Cebu Pacific inaugurates Clark hub operations

Cebu Pacific (CEB), has start on November 8, 2008 regular operations from the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA), its fourth hub after Manila, Cebu and Davao.

Lance Y. Gokongwei, Cebu Pacific president and CEO said, “The residents of Central and Northern Luzon can now fly directly to Hong Kong, Macau, Bangkok, and Singapore, without traveling all the way to Manila. More importantly, we are now making our trademark low fares available to even more people in the country.”

He added that Cebu Pacific’s operations will present new opportunities for the region since DMIA is a strategic gateway for foreign and local investors.

Victor Jose I. Luciano, President and CEO of Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) said, “The commencement of CEB’s international flight is a testament to its strong entrepreneurial spirit as well as its faith in DMIA. CEB is one of the largest local carriers which has grown by leaps and has become known in Asia as the fastest growing airline. DMIA and CEB will create a synergy that will benefit both companies leading to the developmental growth of the airport.”

Cebu Pacific is the first Philippine carrier to offer regular international scheduled services from Clark with flights to Hong Kong, Macau, Bangkok, and Singapore. The airline also operates flights from DMIA to Cebu four-times weekly.

Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and distribution, said “CEB offers the lowest fares and has the most number of flights, routes and destinations among airlines using DMIA.”
